The musician is well-known through his compositions for groups, and the instrumentation of a wide range of pieces for solo guitar, in which he is an expertise. Águas, his new work, is formed wholly by compositions of his own. The 16 tracks of the CD were influenced by different musical genres, and Dentello made himself the recording, together with 22 musicians from four countries — France, Germany, Italy, and Brazil.

Janela para o Brasil (Window to Brazil) is a combination of compositions from Rogério Dentello with themes that already belong to our chosen repertoire of popular and instrumental music. His arrangements are new creations in new dress, where the guitar is clearly noticeable, even groundbreaking. I would like to emphasize “Canção do Sal” (The Song of the Salt) from Milton Nascimento and “Loro” from Egberto Gismonti, which are perfectly and very personally represented. The compositions from Rogério follow the similar ideal of his arrangements: first and foremost being the “Valsas Brasileiras n.1” (Brazilian Waltz No. 1) and “Brincadeira 3” (Playing Around n.3) from the cycle with the same name. In the album "Aquarela do Brasil" (Brazilian Watercolours), which contains musical pieces by great Brazilian composers, one notices the influence of other guitarists. With the former Choro-group there crystallized a culture of great musicians, where the guitar was played with a unique adroitness in the Choro ensemble. Out of this segment of popular music came numerous guitarists who wrote Brazilian musical history, such as João Pernambuco, Dilermando Reis, Américo Jacomino, Baden Powell, Garoto, Paulinho Nogueira, and many others. "Luzes & Lendas" (Lights and Legends). His arrangements of musical pieces for usually two instruments unveil not only the various nuances of style, but also the unusual combination between the guitar and other instruments.
